Treetops Day Nursery recognises that parents are their child’s first carers and educators, and therefore their views and knowledge of their children are paramount in ensuring that we are able to provide the best possible care. We believe that strong partnerships with parents are essential in supporting each child’s development, well-being and learning journey.
The nursery operates a key person approach in order to provide the best possible working relationship for each child and their family, and to ensure that individual needs are recognised and supported. The key person forms a close bond with the child and acts as the main point of contact for parents, helping to create a consistent and nurturing environment both at home and within the nursery.

Parents’ mornings are held termly to update parents on their child’s development, share observations, and discuss their next steps. These sessions offer a valuable opportunity for parents and practitioners to work together and celebrate each child’s progress. In addition, we host events such as messy mornings, child-led productions and informal coffee mornings to encourage parents to get involved in their child’s learning and nursery life. These activities help to strengthen the home–nursery connection and foster a strong sense of community among families.
