Fees & Funding

Should you have any queries about our fees then we would welcome the opportunity to further discuss your enquiry.

Updated: September 2025

Eligible working parents of children aged 9 months and above will be entitled to receive 30 hours of funded childcare. Children become eligible the term after their birthday. For the EYFE these dates are 1st September 1st January or1st April.

  • This funded entitlement is provided at 22 hours per week, throughout the year or Term-Time only This entitlement starts the term after your birthday for children from the age of 9 months 2,3 and 4 years old.

Parents should claim their entitlement via the HMRC more information can be found on the government website https://beststartinlife.gov.uk/

The EYFE provision excludes items outside of the EYFS.
Your invoice will include the days your child attends.

The EYFE rate is set at the minimum to deliver the provisions of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). West Sussex County Council require services outside of the basic EYFS provision to be charged separately. The provision of meals/consumables falls outside the EYFS.

These items are all in the fee grid below and will be charged as itemised on your monthly invoice.

Extended Free Entitlement

Working parents of 9 Months, 2-, 3- and 4-Year-old children may be entitled to additional 15 hours of free childcare: if this not the case any extra hours used outside of the 15 hours will be charged at our Normal hourly rate. Please provide us with your 30-hour code.

Should your claim be granted/not granted, your invoice will be reissued to reflect the number of FE hours approved.

The nursery will not be responsible for any loss of FE for whatever reason. For example, illness, holidays, especially if the nursery is open therefore all fees are still payable.

With extended EYFE this will be spread throughout the year to a maximum of 22 hours per week.

Please note: it is the parent’s responsibility to apply for 30 hours funding via the HMRC website and to reconfirm their eligibility when reminded to do so by the HMRC. Parents are responsible to make sure the nursery has all reference codes within the appropriate time scale.

Period of Notice

If you wish your child to leave the nursery you are required to give a month’s notice in writing.  Any Early Years Funded Entitlement (EYFE) within the current cycle (Spring/Summer/Autumn) will be withheld by the nursery as part of the notice procedure.

Tax-Free Childcare

You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).

If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay towards your fees.

You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 15- or 30-hours free childcare if you’re eligible for both.
